What types of motors, remotes & motor accessories are available?
Blinds on the Net™ offers a range of different types of motors, remote controls, wall switchers, sensors and chargers help to automate your blinds. The following motors and accesories are available as an added option to any of our Australian custom made blinds.
Roller blinds
Blinds on the Net recommend using wirefree battery operated motors with Roller blinds and Double Roller blinds. Hard wired motors require an electrician.
DIY Battery operated motors | Roller blinds
These are battery controlled and require NO electrical work. The smaller battery motors will operate blinds up to about 2m x 3m. The larger 3NM can power the largest single blind and even linked blinds.

Hard Wired motors that require an Electrician | Roller blinds
Wired motors will require connection to a 240 volt power by a licensed electrician. They are a more powerful motor suitable for larger Blinds and when you want to link 2 or more blinds together.
The RTS/ARC motors below have a built in radio receiver that receives instructions from a battery operated remote control that is included in the price.
You will be required to program the blind to the remote control once installed and connected to power. The top and bottom limits are also set via the remote control. It’s an important tip to only have power to the blind you are programming.

Roman blinds
Roman blinds with motors must be installed to a 90mm headboard and you will be able to see the components of the tube and motor when looking into your window from outside. Blinds on the Net recommend using wirefree battery operated motors. Hard wired motors require an electrician.

Can I control my motorised blinds with a Smartphone or Tablet?
Blinds on the Net™ offers 2 smart home automation hubs that allows you to control your blinds and other areas like lights via your smartphone or tablet.
Somfy Tahoma Wifi Home Automation Hub
Control your blinds with your smartphone or tablet and unlock voice control with third-party voice assistants Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant via IFTTT (If This, Then That) or direct connection (Google only).
The Somfy Tahoma Switch wifi home automation hub is compatible with all our Somfy motors.
Tahoma can control up to 30 RTS channels per hub from iOS and Android devices. There are 4 scenarios per hub, 4 modes and 8 schedules.
You can easily automate your blinds with Scenes and Schedules, with support for Up/Down/Stop commands and incremental control (tilt/brightness).
Scenes and Schedules can also be triggered using voice commands or pre-set automations.
You can access the hub remotely using an internet connection with the ability to connect up to 4 smartphone devices.
The Tahoma is compatible with the entire RTS range of Somfy motors.
